【Head Teacher For Elementary】Jessyca Lankester

Dear Students and Parents ! Nice to meet you , my name is Jessyca Lankester ... I was born and raised in The Netherlands although I was told that my Family Name has its roots in New Zealand and The UK as my great grandfather was born in England ! My mom who used to be a flight attendant and still speaks 5 languages ... has always encouraged me to explore the World in order to keep an Open Mind and Heart and so I did ....I’ve lived in Spain and Turkey before settling down in Japan ! I also feel my Canadian stepdad has influenced my character and style as he taught me to take myself not too seriously and how to maintain my wit and common sense ! My interests from an early age have been written and spoken Languages together with creative forms as in Theatre , movies and musicals and writing short essays ! I graduated from Business College but my heart wasn’t in it ... My wish was to become either a famous artist or a journalist ... but Faith landed me in Japan ! In 1998 I became a mother and one Year later I started teaching English as a Head- teacher for several International schools /Language schools with students aged 2- 12 years old ! Currently I still teach at a Japanese Kindergarten for which in made my own program ... I believe in Monthly curriculums which are inter - connected and filled with Clil / TPR and combined with Science / Arts and Crafts / Role- Play and Cooking -activities ! This way its more effective , Fun and memorable for Elementary-aged students ! To brush up my Teaching skills I took a Tesol Young Learners ( 120 hours ) course in which I learned even more about Children’s 7 Learning - styles and this has guided me a lot to bring out the best in each student individually ! My hobbies / passion are : traveling , writing ( writing my first book ) NLP ( neuro linguistic programming ) and filming with GoPro ...( working on my project : Tokyo 23 ) and even after all these years I love working with kids ... to bring out their curiosity and enthusiasm to tackle new things and to broaden their horizons ..... My motto for students is : Let’s try it .... you will be surprised !
